“The secret to a great smoothie recipe is frozen bananas. It melds the flavors wonderfully together and gives your smoothie that creamy consistency. This smoothie recipe is my go-to for something delicious, refreshing, and healthy.
Quick tip for those with a significant other who works out: put in a scoop of protein powder. I do this for my hubby, and he loves it! The recipe is below:
Ingredients:
- Almond milk
- Flaxseed
- Frozen bananas
- Frozen mixed berries
- Spinach powder
- Ice
Blend together, top with more flaxseed, and serve!
I enjoy this smoothie usually on mid-afternoons when I’m craving a treat but want to resist going for that candy bar. It does the trick!”

“This is the best smoothie to boost immunity in the coronavirus era and beyond.
Ingredients:
- Piece of ginger
- Half lemon juice
- 2 ribbed celery leaves
- 1 kiwi
- 1 banana
- 1 teaspoon of linseed oil
- Half a teaspoonful of cinnamon
How to make it:
Rinse and peel the ginger. Squeeze the lemon into the cup of a blender. Wash the celery and cut it into pieces. Peel the kiwi or, if it is soft, cut it in half and remove the flesh with a spoon into the blender. Peel the banana from the skin and put it into the blender. Add all the ingredients there.
Mix everything in the mixer. It tastes great chilled, especially if you don’t like the taste of ginger. At room temperature, ginger is more intense. This smoothie boosts the body, and it works better than coffee.”

“This is a favorite go-to, healthy, high-protein green smoothie. It’s a powerhouse because of its protein and calcium content thanks to Greek yogurt and almond milk. Both are essential for muscle building and bone development. With this smoothie, you’ll feel satiated so you won’t go on a snack binge, loading up on empty calories.
On top of that, it is chock full of antioxidants because of the berries, banana, and kale. Don’t be put off by the green tinge, because every gulp means you boost your immune system and fight free radicals thanks to all the added vitamins and nutrients. Above all else, you improve your digestion because it is fiber-rich. With this kind of on-the-go smoothie, a delicious, healthy meal can be had anytime, anywhere.
Here’s the simple recipe:
- A hand full of frozen berries
- One frozen banana
- One cup chopped kale
- 1/2 cup almond milk
- 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
- Ice
Easy instructions: Just mix all these wonderful ingredients in a blender, and you are good to go!”

“I am a big smoothie lover, so it was hard to choose my favorite recipe. However, if I had to pick only one, it would be this tropical breakfast smoothie:
- 1 banana, peeled and cut
- 1/2 cup frozen mango pieces
- 4 Tbsp yogurt
- 1/2 Tbsp liquid honey
- 8 oz apple juice (can be replaced with milk if you prefer your smoothie to be thicker)
- Ice cubes (optional)
Step 1: Mix the ingredients in the blender (excluding the ice cubes). Mix until the mixture is smooth and thick.
Step 2: Serve! Feel free to add in the ice cubes if the day is exceptionally hot.
Tip: You can include two tablespoons of oatmeal in the smoothie mixture before blending. That way, the result will be packed with more fiber and will leave you feeling full for longer. This is a great substitute for breakfast!”

- 2 cups almond milk or your favorite plant-based milk
- 1 1/2 cups frozen or chilled blueberries
- 1/4 cup chocolate protein powder
- 1 banana
- 1 Tbsp chia seeds
- 1 Tbsp maple syrup
Anyone who enjoys a sweet, cold smoothie packed with nutritional benefits and a protein punch would love this smoothie! Blueberries can be substituted for strawberries if desired. This smoothie is best served cold with the chia seeds being added last for optimal effect.”

“I want my smoothie to be tasty while having health benefits. Here is my favorite recipe:
- 1 medium ripe banana
- 1/2 sliced cucumber – organic if possible
- 1/2 cup coconut milk
- 1 cup spinach or kale
- 1 tsp spirulina
- 1 cup frozen or fresh blueberries
I sometimes like to add chia and wait until it becomes like pudding. All the ingredients in this smoothie are healthy and are some of my personal favorites when it comes to fruits and vegetables. Add the ones that you prefer to make the perfect smoothie for yourself.”

“I have smoothies almost every day, and my favorite recipe is what I like to call my Emerald smoothie. I don’t like smoothies that are too sweet, so this is perfect for me. If you want a little more sweetness, you can add some banana as well.
Emerald Smoothie:
- 1 cup packed of baby spinach
- 1/3 cup of plain Greek yogurt
- 1/4 avocado
- 1/4 apple
- A small handful of frozen mango
- Add cold water to get the texture you like.”

“When it comes to smoothies, my favorite is the fried banana smoothie. It reminds of a classic Mexican Batido, but a little more decadent. It starts with pan-frying one banana in butter. After a few minutes of that, combine the banana with 1.5 cups of half and half, a cup of ice, a teaspoon of cinnamon, and 1/3 cup of light brown sugar. All that’s left is to blend until smooth, garnish with a little cinnamon, and enjoy!”

“My favorite smoothie recipe is a mango-banana-cardamom smoothie:
- 1 ripe banana
- 1 ripe mango
- 1 cardamom pod
- 250 ml or 1 cup of almond or oat milk
- 1 tablespoon of cocoa butter
Mix until smooth and enjoy.”

- 2 Tbsp beet powder
- 2 Tbsp hemp hearts
- 1 Tbsp moringa powder
- 1/2 cup water
Blend in a high powered blender and enjoy! The result is a creamy smoothie with tons of nutrition.”

“We call it the ‘Green Gremlin Smoothie.’
Here’s the recipe for two tall glasses:
- 4 cups milk
- 1 drop vanilla extract
- 1 banana
- 1 heaping Tbsp peanut butter
- 1 big handful of spinach
Blend together and enjoy!
Kids have no idea how healthy this is — the peanut butter and banana completely mask the taste of the spinach.”

“My favorite smoothie recipe is the Leftover Fruitcake Smoothie:
- 2 cups baby spinach or kale
- 1/2 cup fruitcake leftovers
- 2 cups unsweetened almond milk
- 1/4 cup hemp seeds (optional)
- 1/4 cup blueberries (optional)
Directions:
- Blend almond milk with the fruitcake leftovers first, and if it’s too thick, add more milk until you get the desired consistency.
- Add the spinach leaves slowly, allowing time for the blender to chop up the leaves into tiny bits.
- Add a 1/4 of blueberries if you have them for an antioxidant boost.
- Finish blending at high power for 20 seconds.
- Serve and enjoy!
You can also use regular milk instead of almond milk, but I only use plant-based milk in my smoothies these days. Almond milk works well because it’s not as thick as other plant-based milk, and it tastes really good in smoothies. You can use the vanilla-flavored almond milk in your smoothies to make it extra-sweet, as well.
It’s also great for the kids since you can sneak in some spinach and healthy greens without scaring them off!”

“I like a fruit-veggie smoothie. It already bears all the necessary nutrients you’ll need for your daily diet.
In a high-powered blender, put in two sliced frozen bananas, and three cups of spinach or two cups of kale. Add in a half cup of almond milk and a teaspoon of honey.
It’s very easy to make, and it tastes great. You’ll get everything prepared in five minutes.”

“My favorite smoothie recipe is called The Homecation.
Fill an ice cube tray with pineapple juice and leave it in the freezer overnight. The next morning, blend (with the pulse button on your blender):
- 1 cup frozen strawberries
- 1/2 cup frozen peaches
- 1/2 cup frozen cherries
- 1 cup milk
- 8-10 frozen pineapple juice ice cubes
If the smoothie is too thick, add 2 more pineapple juice ice cubes at a time. Sip and enjoy!”

“A generous serving from a smoothie bowl is one of my go-to breakfast options. If I were to pick from the many choices out there, an Acai bowl would be my top choice.
I was introduced to the Acai years back by a friend from Brazil, a country where this superfruit originated. In the US, you can purchase this at any Whole Foods branch, and it comes in frozen puree packets.
You’ll need:
- 2 frozen Acai packets
- Frozen grapes
- Cacao nibs
- Granola
- Raisins
- A high-powered blender
Combine the grapes and Acai packets in your blender. Blending them while frozen will give you that ice cream consistency.
Once the blending is done, scoop it out and place it into a medium bowl. The cacao nibs, granola, and raisins will serve as toppings. Enjoy.”

“My fave smoothie recipe is a triple berry smoothie, because it’s not only super tasty, but it’s also packed with disease-fighting antioxidants.
I combine a cup of frozen mixed berries (blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries) with one whole banana, half a cup of yogurt, and a cup of soy milk in a blender and blend until smooth. I love this smoothie recipe because it’s so simple and quick to make, it gives me lots of energy and helps satisfy my sugar cravings.”

“For a nutrient-rich, protein-forward version of a delightfully green avocado smoothie, try this shake!
The Avo Smash
Ingredients:
- 1 whole avocado, pitted
- 1-2 scoops vanilla honey whey protein
- 1/4 cup raw tahini
- 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
- 1/3 cup oat milk
Greek yogurt provides plenty of protein here, as well as the oat milk. The vanilla and whey powder gives the shake a similar creamy flavor and texture. Avocados have fortifying vitamins, potassium, and fibers. Tahini contains plenty of good fat, as well as plenty of B-vitamins, minerals, and iron.”

“I love a simple, indulgent smoothie, and while it might be a classic, it’s a classic for a reason – a banana and strawberry smoothie to die for! You can keep the ratios to your liking, but I throw in equal parts bananas and strawberries, fresh yogurt, and ice. While not for everyone, for a little extra flavor I also include a little peanut butter and some oats. Whiz it all up, and to serve, garnish with a few slices of banana, strawberry, and a thick straw – heaven!”

- 6 frozen strawberries or other frozen fruit
- 1 scoop Vital Proteins collagen peptides
- Optional: 1-2 raw egg yolks, from organic, pasture raised hens
