Located in the Village Shoppes at 95 Washington St. in Canton, Edible Arrangements’ new franchise houses the company’s latest Edible To Go service – offering smoothies, blended ice juices, sundaes, parfaits and chocolate-dipped fruit. All the treats are made to order with fresh fruitand natural agave sweetener, and contain no additives or preservatives.
“I think Edible To Go is a natural extension of our product,” said Irina Salgan, who co-owns the Edible Arrangements in Canton with Arthur Romanov.
The new Canton store is the fifth Edible Arrangements franchise that Salgan and Romanov have launched together in the past seven years. They own stores in Quincy, Norwood, South Weymouth and Sandwich. Salgan separately owns a sixth store in Framingham.
The Canton franchise is the second to offer an Edible To Go menu on the South Shore since the Plymouth store at 321 Court St. launched its Edible To Go in June. There are 49 Edible Arrangements stores in Massachusetts, including 17 in Greater Boston.
There are Edible To Go menus at 37 Edible Arrangements stores in the U.S. and Puerto Rico.
With its steady foot traffic and surrounding retail businesses, Canton’s Village Shoppes plaza is the perfect location for a new Edible Arrangements franchise, particularly one with an Edible To Go menu, Romanov said.
“The nice thing about this plaza is that it’s a destination place,” he said. “Nobody comes here for one particular thing. People come here to shop and spend most of their day.”
Being close to Stoughton and Sharon gives him and Salgan “the best of three worlds” from which to draw potential customers, he said.
“It’s a nice business where you’re always dealing with happy people,” said Romanov, who began his career at Edible Arrangements as manager of Salgan’s Quincy franchise in 2005. “The person making the arrangement is happy and the person receiving it is ecstatic. It’s a rare business to find these days where you find customers and recipients who are always in a good mood.”
