Today, we celebrate Tiffeny North and her Edible store in Columbus, Ohio!
Tiffeny acquired this Edible location in August of 2021 and has been celebrating special moments in the Columbus, OH community celebrate life’s special occasions! Tiffeny and her leadership team prides themselves on preparing and delivering fruit arrangements that are always freshly crafted from fruit that’s grown and picked to our Fruit Expert® standards. Additionally, they have the best variety of gourmet chocolate Dipped Fruit™, too! She was able to navigate the last year with remarkable skill and achieved a lot of success. Tiffeny recently discussed how her experience and leadership skills were used to build a $1 million store. Congrats Tiffeny!
What have you done differently this year versus last year to become a million-dollar store?
Our goal was to make sure we staffed the right team for the job; even if that meant adding new members and retraining others. We made sure our Grandview Edible Team understood that the customer really does come first. We strive to under promise BUT over deliver. Our team has been working hard to bring the “WOW” factor to life, one customer at a time.
What have you done differently to engage with the community during the pandemic?
Supporting other local small businesses in the area has been important to us. We have also managed to offer employment opportunities to several in the community who have lost their jobs due to the pandemic.
How did you build your customer base?
Everywhere we go we speak “Edible”. Word of mouth is still a great way to bring exposure to any brand. We give out cards with our location information and offer FREE samples when new customers stop by our store. We also reach out to our customers who haven’t made purchases in a while and offer them special promotions with their next purchase.
What have been your most successful marketing tactics for Edible®?
Making sure we stay engaged with the community (schools, local businesses, hospitals) making posts on social media, and reaching out to our existing customers for new orders.
What kind of culture exists in how you run your store, and how did you establish it?
We want to surpass our customers’ expectations. We provide exceptional customer services and all our employees are cross-trained. Our leadership team inspects what we expect. That’s the key.
What has been your most satisfying moment as an Edible® store owner?
When our customers express their appreciation for a job well done and hearing our employees say how much they love their job.
How do you define success in this industry (outside of financial)?
In my opinion, success is waking up each morning giving your all to THAT day like there’s no tomorrow. Making sure you bring forth positive energy and help others reach their goals.
What advice would you give to your fellow franchisee?
Surround yourself with a strong support system. Reach out to other franchisees who have reached the goals you are striving to reach.
Who, and what, has been your greatest inspiration?
My greatest inspiration is my family and peers. I take nothing for granted. The encouragement and support they give me helps more than they could ever know. I enjoy motivating others to achieve their dreams and showing them that there are NO LIMITS.
